Introduction
Vitro Lighting Designs was born out of a passion to create not only stunning looking pendant lights, but also combining the design with a pleasing quality of light. The lights are hand crafted in Belgium inspired by the principal of the chandelier whereby the light source is reflected on the multiple surfaces of the crystal and glass. Our pendant lights have a LED at the top shining through the internal shapes transforming the crystal into the featured source of light, like the filament in a light bulb. The refraction of the light-rays create a direct yet a pleasing soft quality of light.

Using existing glass, crystal vases and bowls, they are layered inside each other to create unique shapes. Every lamp is different from each other in size, colour and form. Some shapes resemble industrial pendant lights and others follow the principal of the chandelier where the source of light is reflected on the multiple surfaces of the glass or crystal, creating a beautiful quality of light.
The designing of these lights come natural to us as we both have a background in photography and work daily with light in our professional life.

Our Glass and Crystal work
The glasswork and crystal shapes are sourced from various suppliers. The interesting shapes of the vases and bowls influence the way we look at the form without thinking of its original use. The ultimate goal is to design and create a light which works aesthetically and then assembling the separate items into one functional object, although, knowing the original use of these items in the back of one's mind adds a certain humor to the final piece.
The Lamp holder
The bronze and stainless steel fittings are individually hand machined in our workshop.
We take great care in building our light fixtures. paying close attention to detail and using CE rated components.
